Use the Hourly Garage for a terminal visit

The Hourly Garage stands opposite the BWI terminal and connects to it by pedestrian routes, including skywalks. It is a practical option when you want to park and go inside rather than wait in your vehicle. BWI publishes $6 per hour, up to $30 per day, checked 23 October 2026.

Bringing a tall vehicle or roof box? BWI lists Hourly Garage clearances of 6 feet 8 inches on Levels 1–3 and 8 feet on Levels 4–6. Measure the complete vehicle, including anything on the roof, and follow the posted entrance and route restrictions. The airport does not accommodate oversized vehicles requiring more than one space. Check the official parking vehicle guidance before travel.

Wait for an arriving passenger in the Cell Phone Lot

The airport’s free Cell Phone Lot is at 1001 Scott Drive. It is for drivers waiting in their vehicles for arriving passengers, with a published maximum stay of one hour. Remain with your vehicle and arrange to move toward pickup when your passenger is ready.

Ask the passenger to confirm they have collected their bags and reached the appropriate pickup location. If you need to leave the car and meet someone inside the terminal, use a parking facility such as the Hourly Garage. The Cell Phone Lot is not a substitute for unattended or overnight parking.

Separate a quick curbside stop from parking

Use the terminal’s signs and staff directions for passenger dropoff and collection. Decide in advance whether you will simply unload luggage or accompany someone into the building. For assistance inside, allow time to park, walk to the terminal and return to the vehicle.

Keep the flight number handy when collecting a passenger, and check the airline’s arrival update before leaving. A flight’s landing time is not the same as the time a passenger will be ready outside; disembarking, border formalities where applicable and baggage collection all affect the pickup.

Compare alternatives for an overnight or short trip

A short stay does not automatically make the Hourly Garage the lowest-cost choice. BWI also publishes daily rates for the Daily Garage, Express Parking and Long Term A/B. Their terminal shuttles add a transfer stage, so balance the total cost with the time and convenience you need.

Plan assistance and the route to the terminal

BWI provides accessible parking spaces in all of its parking facilities, and its parking-lot and rail-station shuttles are wheelchair accessible. If you need airline wheelchair assistance, arrange it with the airline. Consider the walking route, luggage and the time needed to meet an arriving traveler when selecting a facility.
