Visit the historic fort associated with the 1814 Battle of Baltimore and the writing of the U.S. national anthem. The grounds and waterfront provide a distinct Baltimore history stop; check National Park Service visitor information before travelling.

Formerly the B&O Railroad Museum

A short connection is not automatically enough time to visit the city. Consider any immigration formalities, baggage storage, transport in both directions, check-in deadlines, security and the walk to your departure gate. A city sightseeing trip fits more comfortably around an overnight stop than a tight connection.
If you are driving, check attraction parking separately from your BWI parking reservation. If you use rail or other public transport, review the current timetable and the route back to your terminal. The BWI directions guide explains how the separate airport rail station and terminal are connected.
Book a room in the BWI airport area if the flight time makes an overnight stay useful. Verify hotel check-in and shuttle availability before finalizing the wider itinerary.
Plan your luggage before a city visit. BWI says it has no airport luggage lockers. Ask your airline about early bag check or your hotel about storage, and confirm the arrangement before setting off. Check BWI’s passenger FAQs.
