Confirm BWI on every relevant flight
Use BWI when selecting Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport in the flight search. Regional searches can include other airports, so review the actual departure and arrival airport codes on the final itinerary before paying.
If your outbound and return flights use different airports, plan how you will reach the parked car. A parking reservation at BWI does not include a transfer from another airport. Check the itinerary after an airline schedule change as well as when you first book.
Translate flight times into parking times
The parking arrival time comes before your planned terminal arrival. Allow for driving to the correct facility, checking in where required, finding a space, waiting for a shuttle and reaching the terminal. BWI recommends arriving at the terminal two hours before a domestic departure or three hours before an international departure.
For the return, allow time after landing to leave the aircraft, collect bags, complete any required border formalities and transfer back to the vehicle. Enter that realistic collection time when comparing parking quotes. Read the provider’s rules for additional parking if your return is delayed.

Example: a 7 a.m. domestic departure. A two-hour terminal-arrival target means being at the terminal by 5 a.m. Your parking arrival must be earlier to allow for parking, check-in, waiting, loading and the transfer. A 5 a.m. arrival at the parking lot leaves none of that time. Use the selected operator’s instructions to work back to a realistic parking arrival.
Check early departures and late returns
A flight outside normal daytime hours makes the parking transfer especially important. BWI’s airport-operated Daily, Express and Long Term shuttles run 24/7, approximately every 10–15 minutes. Private parking and hotel shuttles use their own timetables, which may be shorter.
Confirm that the selected transfer covers both flights, including the expected time you will be ready for pickup after landing. If you choose a room before an early departure, check the hotel’s first shuttle and any advance booking requirement. Compare BWI hotels and read the room-and-parking guidance.

For example, check the Courtyard BWI 4 a.m.–midnight shuttle window against both flights. If a room helps with your schedule, compare staying before departure or after return.
Consider baggage and connections when choosing a fare
Review the selected fare for cabin and checked baggage, seat selection, amendments and cancellation conditions. Consider your whole party’s luggage when planning a parking shuttle, particularly if you are traveling with large cases, sports equipment or a child’s stroller.
For a connecting itinerary, check the scheduled connection, airport or terminal changes and the baggage arrangement shown by the booking provider. Leave enough flexibility in your ground transport plan to respond to a revised arrival time without assuming that one provider will amend another provider’s booking.
Update each reservation when your itinerary changes
After a flight change, review the parking start and end times, shuttle operating hours and any hotel stay. Contact the parking or accommodation provider separately when an amendment is needed. Keep the airline and parking confirmations together, including the correct facility address and return pickup instructions.
Use the airline’s current flight information on the day. If you are collecting a passenger, wait for confirmation that they are ready before approaching pickup; the Cell Phone Lot and short term parking guide explains the options.
Complete the BWI ground-travel plan
Compare the full cost and transfer arrangements in the BWI parking rates guide. For a longer trip, use the long term parking checklist. Save your destination from the parking directions page, then consult the airport guide for concourses and official maps.
Frequently asked questions
Which airport code should I choose for Baltimore airport parking?
Choose BWI for Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport. Check the final itinerary in case a regional flight search includes other airports.

No. It should start when you arrive at the parking facility, allowing enough time for the transfer, check-in and security before departure.
Should parking end when my return flight lands?
Allow extra time to disembark, collect luggage and get back to the car. Check the provider’s conditions for delays and late collection.
